So, you may have noticed that Obsidian Dawn has been going through some strange times lately. Sometimes it’s up, sometimes it’s down, sometimes the downloads weren’t working, and now it’s back to how it should be, minus some comments. What in the heck is going on, you may ask?

Well, it’s about time that we moved to a dedicated hosting account, and that’s just what’s going on. From now on, Obsidian Dawn won’t be sharing bandwidth with anyone…. so we should be running much more smoothly from now on, and without many hitches. However, while this transition period is going on (and while I learn the in’s and out’s of the wonderful world of dedicated hosting), you may notice some odd goings on.

So, please bear with us for now, and thank you so much for your patience!

Note to those of you that commented on the BannerSnack post: If your comment has disappeared, HAVE NO FEAR! I saved them all, so even if it isn’t showing up under the post anymore, you will still be entered into the contest. Feel free to re-post if you’d like, but it isn’t necessary (and won’t double your chance of winning, since there’s only 1 entry per person).

Wacom Intuos4 Tablet Review & Contest Update

Just a quick post to let you all know that I’ve done a review for Photoshop Support on Wacom’s newest tablet, the Intuos4.

Any of you that use tablets out there should really check out my review – and then go buy yourself an Intuos4! It’s well worth the upgrade, moreso than any other time in Intuos history, I’d say.

I probably should have chosen some different brushes for my very first contest. Something with glitter or swirls, perhaps, rather than the Tech & Gears brushes. As such, I’ve not gotten nearly as many entries as I would have liked. I’ll fix that for the next contest. But, in the meantime, here’s what I’m going to do. I’ll keep the contest open for one more week, and also let you all use the Gears Transparent PNGs, as well. You can enter as many times as you like. Contest!

First off, a big “thank you” to all of you for being patient with me for the last few months while things were slow. Any of you who read my posts regularly knew that I was moving, but things have been crazy this year even beyond then. After the move, there was unpacking. After the unpacking (which still isn’t done) comes gallbladder pain – which was misdiagnosed as acid reflux for the last 3 years, and which kept me lying down most of the day. Then comes one surgery to clear out some gallstones that had gotten stuck in my bile duct, and the recovery. Then comes a second surgery, to take out my gallbladder (I had 53 stones!), and the recovery for that. Lastly, a week and a half ago, my grandmother passed away and I was out of town to help my mother through it and for the memorial. This has been a very busy year. :P

However, with all of that behind me, I think things should begin picking up once again here at Obsidian Dawn. I’ll have Obsidian Dawn CDs available again sometime this week, so for any of you that have been waiting for them, check again soon!

I’d like to start things out with a contest. I’ll be holding these every so often from now on, as long as this one goes well. They will all be based around one or a few of Obsidian Dawn’s resources, where you’ll be asked to submit entries for products and designs that use a particular brush set, pattern, image, etc.

Eyeshadow Photoshop & GIMP Brushes

A set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of various shapes of eyeshadow. It includes just most of the traditional eye shadow shapes, either broken up into individual brushes or all together. It also includes various glittery effects, patterned eye makeup, and face painting styled eye accents (a butterfly and a swirl). It should make your Photoshop makeup applications much easier and more fun! Brushes are included for both the right and left eyes.
