I'm sorry, I haven't used Elements in years. Your best bet is to consult your know-it-all friend Google. Try a search for "Photoshop Elements (your version here) layer styles".

Ok, so I have the newer version of Photoshop Elements, and there isn't the (f) button at the botton with the layers! I go into the layer drop down menu, then Layer style, then Style Settings, and it looks nothing like that. Little help please?

If you restart Photoshop (assuming it was open when you installed them), they should just show up along with your other brushes.

Alternately, you can choose "Load Brushes" or "Replace Brushes" from the menu, navigate to the file, and load them that way.

I love brushes like this for photoshop. I took a class from a professor about photography once. It was in the comp lit department, but the professor considered himself a fine art photographer. Anyway, I remember talking with him once or twice about the role of photoshop and we both liked the power to edit being brought out of the dark room a little more. I don't think he liked this kind of editing as much as I do, though. :)

These should definitely work. They're made for Photoshop 7 or higher, including CS4. I have NO idea why it would be saying that. Your best bet is to try an internet search, maybe, with the error and the versions of Photoshop in it?

Rather than just placing them in the folder, did you try "Load Brushes" and then navigate to them? Is that what's giving you the error? You may even try to re-download them, maybe there was a problem with a corrupted download or somesuch.

Sorry I couldn't help more!

Vector brushes like these shouldn't come out transparent. Make sure that your brush opacity and strength (sliders up on the top bar, under your main menu) are both up to 100%. If it's still a little transparent, what you can do is:

1. before using the brush, make a new layer (if you're not sure how to do this, I strongly recommend just about ANY of my tutorials - but the one on brush techniques will help you learn to better use brushes, also)
2. use the brush on that new layer
3. duplicate that layer once or twice, and the brush should be fully opaque (non-transparent)

Hope this helps!
