First off, a big “thank you” to all of you for being patient with me for the last few months while things were slow. Any of you who read my posts regularly knew that I was moving, but things have been crazy this year even beyond then. After the move, there was unpacking. After the unpacking (which still isn’t done) comes gallbladder pain – which was misdiagnosed as acid reflux for the last 3 years, and which kept me lying down most of the day. Then comes one surgery to clear out some gallstones that had gotten stuck in my bile duct, and the recovery. Then comes a second surgery, to take out my gallbladder (I had 53 stones!), and the recovery for that. Lastly, a week and a half ago, my grandmother passed away and I was out of town to help my mother through it and for the memorial. This has been a very busy year. :P
However, with all of that behind me, I think things should begin picking up once again here at Obsidian Dawn. I’ll have Obsidian Dawn CDs available again sometime this week, so for any of you that have been waiting for them, check again soon!
I’d like to start things out with a contest. I’ll be holding these every so often from now on, as long as this one goes well. They will all be based around one or a few of Obsidian Dawn’s resources, where you’ll be asked to submit entries for products and designs that use a particular brush set, pattern, image, etc.
This first contest, you have two (now three) choices for resources:
Using either of those brush sets, create a design, decorate a product, tattoo it on someone’s skin – anything at all that uses these resources may be submitted. You have 3 weeks, as the contest will end on April 12th, 2009. Three judges, myself included, will judge the entries based on originality, design, etc. The prizes will be as follows:
First Prize: Five free commercial licenses of your choosing & a free copy of the Obsidian Dawn Compilation CD
Second Prize: Commercial licenses for both the Tech and the Gears brushes & a free copy of the Obsidian Dawn Compilation CD
Third Prize: A free copy of the Obsidian Dawn Compilation CD

Oh my goodness! Glad things are slowing down for you! Hope to enter the contest – just depends on if things slow down for me. ;)
Holy Smokes, Steph! ‘Bout time for things to settle down! I’m sorry to hear about all your upheaval…I will put in an order for smooth sailing for you from here on. Hang in.
Wow you poor woman I can certainly relate tho. It seems life has a way of making us slow down when it sees fit and not when we see fit. It sounds like you had strength tho that you didn’t know you had to get through all of this. I will look forward to new stuff from you with baited breath.
oh wow, i was wondering how you were i come here every week and the last thing i got was you were moving. i’m happy your doing better, rest up and get your strength back, health always comes first.
Jamie
P.s. I love your brushes
So sorry to hear of your recent medical problems, but glad to hear you are doing better. It does sound like you have had a very trying experience, along with upheaval and loss of a loved one. Have missed seeing your updates and look forward to more brushes and tutorials as your situation improves. You do some really fantastic work and it has been truly missed!
Gosh, you got hit with a lot of life all at once. Hope it’s all behind you now. Get well, and stay well. Nice you’re back. Contest sounds interesting, will see what I can do. Hugs, Edna B.
Hi there! Sorry to hear about your many problems and losses… Hopefully it will get better really soon! Wish all the best and a special Ciao! from Italy :)
My sympathies for the loss of your grandmother. I hope the year only gets better for you from now on.

Hope everything takes a turn for the better. My condolences for your pain and loss.
Oh My!

It will just not do for you to be feeling bad any more!
Take Care of yourself….we all love you!
Hugs,

We all appreciate what you do, but you do it because of who you are. That being the case, make sure to take time out for yourself to recharge. Sending nothing but positive thoughts your way!!!
Geeze, I can’t believe the mountain you’ve been climbing this year! Hopefully you can just chill soon and enjoy everything for awhile instead of running around all the time.
Good Luck with your recovery!
Jenny
I too was wondering about you. You sure have been through a lot lately. Hoping everything is going uphill now for you.
Yikes! You’ve been thru a lot lately. Hope you are recovering & feeling better. Sorry about your grandma.
