How to i get it?? Can some one give me a link for beushes I install this and it didn’t show on my gimp … ;/

The makeup brushes IS the sketches. It’s sketches of makeup stuff – along with a few items of makeup to add to a sketched face. If you read the description of those brushes, it’s all in there. :)

These you’re likely using on a really low opacity or something. If they’re showing up, then they’re working. Try using them on a fresh layer, making sure everything on the brush (opacity, etc) is turned up to 100%, and using them again. If you’re trying to add color to them, check out my “Multiple Colors with Brushes” tutorial, in the tutorials section.

These image-based brushes will only work so well. You may be better off cutting out images of already colored hair and using that, depending on what you’re trying to do.

Not sure what else to tell you, but if you’re seeing something, then the brushes are working. :) You just have to play around with them (and sometimes know a bit about Photoshop) to get them to do what you want.

hi i downloaded this and also the makeup brushes (the one that others were having issues with it being the sketches) and im not able to use it… only the outline of the hair strands show up on my page and same with the cosmetics one and when i downloaded the cosmetics one there wasnt another option to download besides the sketches. im using adobe photoshop cs5

Nope. I make these as Photoshop brushes. GIMP simply added the functionality to be able to use them, so that’s why I advertise them as such. They DO work in GIMP, but some users have explained in the comments on my installing brushes page (in my tutorials section, which explains how to install them in Photoshop and GIMP) some of the tricks they’ve used to get them to work.

I am, however, not a GIMP user and don’t plan on learning it, so I can only provide limited support for GIMP. I’d much rather be making and putting out new resources for people than having to learn a new program and adding a GIMP download for these when they WILL work in GIMP as-is. :)

So my suggestion to you is to search the internet for “using ABR photoshop brush files in gimp” or somesuch. There’ll be a TON of info on that out there, and they’ll be able to help you better than I could.

Downloaded them and put the file into gimp but they still arent showing up. Is there a download that has them as gimp-brush files? instead of the ABR file?

Thanks for helping, I appreciate it! I actually have directions like those in my “Installing Brushes” tutorial, but that’s as far as I go with being able to help with GIMP. I think some people still have problems with it in GIMP after reading those, and I’m just not able to help them troubleshoot it since I don’t use the program. :( Thanks, though!

if anyone wants to know how to get the brushes on gimp ( after you install them ) it’s very easy, open the file you download and copy the brushes (Ctrl+c) Then, Open these Files: My Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program files > GIMP-2.0 > Share > Gimp > 2.0 > Brushes.
Then when you get to the brushes folder just paste tham there! :D
i hope i helped those who keep askin :P
and i don’t know why these brushes don’t work for gimp, well for me atleast, i wouldve loved to have them, oh well, thanks anyway :)

Just look up how to install brushes on gimp on youtube, I have photoshop so my info wont be useful

If you installed them with Elements open, then you’ll need to restart the program before they’ll show up.

If you’re still having trouble, you can “load” or “replace” brushes from that brush menu and then explore, find the file, and load them that way, as well. But they should show up in the list if you put them in the correct directory.

Hey – i use PSE 7 – i downloaded the brushes but when i try and add them to PSE they do not appear in the menu??? am i missing something???

Se você não está vendo esse arquivo ABR, tente novamente baixar o arquivo. Sevocê precisar de alguma ajuda de lá, tenho as instruções de instalação em um linkna minha barra lateral – “Instalando Brushes”.

It may have been a bad download (sometimes the data might get corrupted as it downloads). It should be a file folder, or an ABR file along with a TXT file (depending upon which extraction program you use).

If you’re not seeing that ABR file, try re-downloading the file. If you need any help from there, I have installation instructions in a link on my sidebar – “Installing Brushes”.
