@Daniel: I'm not sure about Elements. But if you check out my tutorial on advanced brush techniques (under the tutorials section), it explains how to rotate, flip, etc. It may be similar for Elements, hopefully?

Glad you're enjoying em!

Found your site and love it. I do fancy woodburning art to give away for wedding presents etc. and often create my own patterns by combining several different pictures. The brushes work very well for add in's and customizing pics. Just one question - is there an easy way to flip the brush - right to left - so I'm looking at the back side. Its got to be there somewhere but I haven't found it yet. Elements 8

@Hello: Just to make sure I understand what you're saying... You're using them on an image, and it's working alright - but then when you go to try to save that image, it's not saving? That is a very odd problem, indeed. Are you trying to save it over the other file? There may be an issue with permissions, if that's the case. I can't think of any reason why Photoshop wouldn't save it properly other than permissions, and that's an Operating System thing, really. Try saving it as a fresh, new file on your desktop (so you're sure it's the right file, too - sometimes you may be saving it in one place and trying to open it from another on accident). If that doesn't do it for you, I'm not sure at all what could be going on, sorry. :(

Hopefully this helps!

@Unknowen: Could you tell me more precisely what is going wrong? And what version of Photoshop you're using? Where are you having trouble? You can unzip the file, put it into the folder alright, and then it won't show up amidst your list of brushes? Or what?

An alternate way of loading them is to choose "Replace Brushes" from that same brush selection menu, and then navigate to where this file is (wherever it is, it doesn't need to be anywhere special to load them this way), and it'll open it that way. If it's failing when you try to do that, you either didn't unzip the file properly or you don't have the right version of Photoshop (7 or higher - this includes the CS's - with regular Photoshop, 2 or higher with Elements)

@Unknowen: You shouldn't be trying to OPEN the file. You should be EXTRACTING the file, and place it (like it says above in more detail) into your Photoshop > Presets > Brushes folder. Then, you open Photoshop and load it from there. You do NOT click on the file to open it directly.

Hope this helps!

So, I clicked on the download button to install the paints -- Next step comes up as downloads file but when I open the download, I get the WinRAR (evaluation copy) pop up. Now, if I want to open up the file with adobe photoshop cs3 directly .. I get an error of "Could not complete your request because it's not the right kind of document." Any tips? I had no troubles downloading your cloud paint brushes but that was months ago and I have forgotten the steps I took.

@rico: Yep! You can either move the files into and out of your folders from your USB drive OR you can choose "Load Brushes" or "Replace Brushes" from the brushes selection screen instead of choosing a set. It'll ask you to "Browse" and find the file, so browse to your USB and load them from there. That's it!

@Jennifer: You're unzipping it and then trying to read it with Adobe Reader, or GIMP? You don't need Adobe Reader at all to use these with GIMP, you just unzip the file using an extraction program and then put them in the right folder for GIMP. Voila!

@fizz: If you're able to view the brushes on your destop, sounds like perhaps you downloaded the image pack rather than the brushes? The image pack is a folder made up of JPGs. The brushes are an .ABR file, which should be placed into your Photoshop > Presets > Brushes folder, and which will then (AFTER A RESTART, IF PHOTOSHOP WAS OPEN) just show up amidst your other brushes.

Hope this helps, and if not, let me know where the trouble is precisely so I can help.
