Makeup & Face Brushes Tip:

To make it easier to match up the eyeshadow with the eyes or lipstick with the lips, use the sketch part of the brush on its own layer. Then, make another layer beneath that one and use the eyeshadow/lipstick.

Once you’ve got that added on its own layer, you can use Edit > Transform > Scale to change the size of it, or Image > Adjustments > Hue and Saturation to change the color, brightness, saturation, etc.

The sets will only save as .zip on my computer and I can’t view them. Is there any way to save them as .xcf??

  2. Stephanie says:

Jenn: Zipped files are compressed or “zipped up” versions of files. These are made to be smaller in size for a much faster download. Almost everything that you will download from the internet will be Zipped or compressed in one way or another. So, you’ll need to know how to “unzip” them! Here’s a link I found that explains it:

Also, these will be .abr files, not .xcf, because they’re made in Photoshop. They WILL work in GIMP, however, as long as your GIMP version is 2.2.6 or later. You just put them into the same file as you would your .xcf files and load them the same way.

Good luck, and hope this helps!

    dear sir

please how do you change the style of some one hair style .

    thanks you

  6. Stephanie says:

@Yonas: Sorry, I’m not really sure what you mean. I’m not even sure how to do it other than erase it and paint in your own hairstyle… I’m more of an artist than a photo manipulator. Sorry I couldn’t help more!

    Thanks again, Stephanie!

  8. UnDead says:

Mmm, Does this only work for photoshop 7+ or does it work for all photoshops like cs3, cs2, and cs4??

  9. Stephanie says:

@UnDead: When I say Photoshop 7+, that means all Photoshops that came out after 7, which includes all of the CS series. :)

im trying to download this to GIMP but i dont know how

  16. Stephanie says:

@Shannon: Follow the link in my sidebar, where it says “Installing Brushes” – that’ll get you going. :)

  17. Cal says:

Uhm, this is going to sound totally stupid….But when I’m using the makeup brush, the blush shows up as the container thing? >.> Told you it would sound stupid! :P Why is it doing that, ’cause it’s doesn’t make sense…I’m using GIMP 2.6.7, by the way.

    Thanks. :)

  18. Cal says:

Oh, and it does that for all of the brushes in this particular set…>.< This is just me, being stupid, of course, but I don't get it… :P

  19. Stephanie says:

@Cal: Well, these are sketches of the containers. :) If you’re looking to add makeup to a face, check out my “Eyeshadow” brushes or “Eyelashes” brushes. I also have a set of “Lips” brushes, but I’m not sure how well those would work as lipstick. :P

This set, however, also comes with a face and some makeup to add to the sketched faces, but that’s it. It’s really just made to be sketches of various types/containers of makeup.

    Hope this helps!

  20. Cal says:

Haha, see, that is what happens when I’m downloading stuff for GIMP at 2 AM. :P Thanks!
