Oh! I understand now. Well, that’s the brush that you’re selecting. I don’t have a blush tool for putting blush on someone’s cheeks in this set. See, this set is made up of both natural looking makeup AND sketches. They’re made to go together. Like, there’s sketched eyes, and then there’s eyeshadow for those eyes. But blush is usually so easy to just put a dab of onto someone’s cheek, I didn’t think a brush was necessary for it. Sorry!

I would greatly appreciate it if you will show us a tutorial on how to apply it because when I apply the tool I want to use, the icon of the tool shows up instead. For example, when I choose a pink color for the brush tool, in this case the blush tool for example, it shows a pink blush tool case and pad instead of the pinkness of the blush and the naturalness.

@Jeanna: You change the blending options by using them on their own layer, and then selecting that layer. Then look at the top of the layers window, and there’ll be a “blending mode” option. Try all the different ones to see which you like best – they all do different things.

As for the second thing you’re asking, I’m not entirely sure what you’re saying. But even if you can’t see the outline of the brush for some reason, you can still use it on a fresh, new layer, and as long as it all fit into your image, you can then use the transform tool to resize it and then “warp” it to fit the eye perfectly.

I may do a tutorial on this soon, showing how to use these and the eyelashes brushes to their best advantage. I’ll try to get it out soon!

Can you show me how to change the blending options? Also, can you also show me how to apply the eyeliner on the upper lid of the eye. I got it perfectly on the bottom of the eye, but I can’t apply it to the eyelid well. The image of the eyeliner tool shows up instead of the effect of the tool. Thanks!

Though I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking, you may want to use the blush on a new layer. Then you can change the “blending mode” of that layer until the blush looks just how you want it to.

I have the brushes downloaded onto my photoshop, I see the icon for it. However, when I want to apply the blush tool for example, I can’t use it because the tool doesn’t give the blush effect, but the tool image shows up into the skin instead, in the color that we chose. If you don’t understand what I am saying, don’t hesitate to ask me. Thank you so much!

I’m not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean that a JPG opened up? If so, you downloaded the image pack instead of the brushes.

As for how to load them and use them, click on “How to Install?” right next to the download button.

Are you sure that your Safari or other browser isn’t automatically unzipping it on download? If it still needs to be unzipped, it’s a ZIP file. Otherwise, it’ll look like a file folder, most likely. But my Mac unzips things automatically, so I thought I’d mention it as a possibility. :)

Otherwise, try just using Leopard itself to unzip it, rather than one of those programs. I just downloaded it and it unzipped for me just fine.

Installing them afterward is all explained in my sidebar, “Installing Brushes”.

I tried opening it using stuffit and zipeg but it didn’t work in either. I have gimp 2.6 for mac. The leopard version I’m not sure if that’s important. I downloaded the brushes and the images but neither worked. I can’t unzip the brushes.

These should work in GIMP without needing to use the image pack, as well. As lon gas you have GIMP 2.2.6 or later, these WILL work with the program. I’m just not very knowledgable on how to get them to work, since I don’t use GIMP. But there’s instructions in my sidebar for installing them in both Photoshop and GIMP, as well as some tips from some GIMP users in the comments on that page if you have trouble.

There is still a way to use the brushes in gimp even though they will not open! Download the image pack which when you extract them will still be in your downloads and openable by clicking them drag them all to your pictures they will be auto converted! Its a little more work but atleast you get to use them so go into gimp open the picture you want select color to alpha then scale it to your size color it whatever you want. Thats how ive been doing it and it works fine!
