Micro Patterns Photoshop & GIMP Brushes

Posted in: Brushes | Tags: , , , , .

A set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of various “micro patterns” – pixelated patterns that would work well for any number of purposes. You could use the different “dots” brushes to add to an image and make it look like newspaper print, for example.

These are also available as Micro Patterns Photoshop Patterns, which integrate together much more seamlessly if you’re covering a large area.

Includes: circles, dots, dashes, grids, squares, scales, twirls, waves, zigzags, and lots of lines!

When i download them it comes up as microsoft works then says file has been corupted? help please!

  2. Stephanie says:

@Mackenzie: I’m not sure why you’re having trouble with them. I just downloaded them and extracted the ZIP file just fine, so what I’m guessing is happening is it’s becoming corrupted somewhere in your download. Try downloading it again, and then follow my instructions in my sidebar under “Getting Started” for how to install brushes to make sure you’re doing it all right. Let me know if you have any more trouble!

I was looking for some of the ‘scales’ brushes… I found the vertical one, and the two diagonal ones, but in the image pack there’s an image called ‘scales.jpg’ which doesn’t appear in the brushes pack… also there’s 33 images in the image pack but I think there’s only 31 in the brushes pack- because that’s all my computer has. Did you change which ones were on the brushes pack compared to the image pack?

  6. Stephanie says:

@Julie: Hmm, I shouldn’t have… but I’ll have to check that, thank you! In the meantime, you could use the images to make your own brushes quite easily – it’s as simple as a menu command, with the JPG file open. If you’re unsure how, check out my tutorial in the tutorials section on creating brushes. :)

But I’ll check into this as soon as possible, as well!
