RUNES are COOL!!!
thank you very much!
Thank you so much for all of your offerings!
I have to make a comment since I am well versed in Rune as well as Hieroglyphs…These are not Nordic Runes. It does not mean they were not used by some Norseman. These are more Elder Futhark. I have listed more information on this below.
Elder Futhark is thought to be the oldest version of the Runic alphabet, and was used in the parts of Europe which were home to Germanic peoples, including Scandinavia. Other versions probably developed from it. The names of the letters are shown in Common Germanic, the reconstructed ancestor of all Germanic languages.
@Lycaeonia: Really? How interesting! Every place on the internet that I found these, they were listed as “Norse Runes,” and since that’s all I have to go off of, that’s what they were named. :) I’d say that for the majority of the public, these seem to have BECOME Nordic runes, even if they actually aren’t.
Interesting to hear the origins of them, though, thank you!
Thanks very much for making these brushes available, much appreciated!
Lycaeonia is right, Elder Futhark are general Germanic.
thanks so much for sharing!
