A set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of various sparkles, glows, glitters… whatever you want to call them. I’ll stick with sparklies! They’re all about 900 pixels tall/wide. Includes several groupings of them, some on their own, some scattered about, and even a few “parts” of them to add as accents wherever you should choose.

Programs: Photoshop 7+, Photoshop Elements 2+, Gimp 2.2.6+
Brushes: 29
Size: 3.54MB
Download the image pack (for those without Photoshop & GIMP)
Brush Tip: When using these, they look really quite pretty just on their own. However, to achieve the look that I’ve done here in my preview image, you’ll use a white color to apply the brush. Make sure it’s on its own layer. Then, go in and add a layer style to that layer: outer glow. Choose a bright, vivid color. I changed then changed the opacity of that glow to about 55-60%, and I moved the “size” slider up until it looked good to me. Working with a brush that was sized to 400 pixels, for instance, I changed the “size” of the glow to 49 pixels. Play around with it until it looks how you want!

Hello!
Great brushes! But I was wondering, how do you install this? Is there any specific places I should extract the brushes into?
@Elah: Check the “Installing Brushes” link in my sidebar, that’ll get you going. :)
hi stephanie! :)
i just wanted to ask something if you don’t mind? i’m just wondering if it is a possible to mix two colors into one brush images?? i cant exactly explain how can i deliver the question properly. just like in a flower for example, if i want to make the flower pinkish with red color. i mean, combination of the two colors into one? or just like here in the sparklies you have here, it seems the sparklies are having two colors at the same time. or a text wherein it has a combination of colors? is it possible? uhm, im trying to understand the tip you have here in this part, but im just a newbie in PS, and i really can’t understand it eh. i hope you done mind? more power to you and Godbless! thanks in advance! (*^_^*)
@tetaldrin: Check out my tutorials section for “Multiple Colors with Brushes” – that should be exactly what you’re looking for. :)
stephanie,
yep. i made it already! and its definitely so nice. but i just have a little problem while im doing it. in the filter section, usually we have different kinds right? like (artistic, blur, brush strokes, distort, noise, pixelate, render, sharpen, stretch, stylized, texture, video, and other ) right? but when im doing the ‘multiple colors with brushes’ and i was about to apply some filters, i’m surprised because my other filters are missing. from all the filters that i’ve stated above, now its only the (blur, noise, pixelate, sharpen, stylized, and other). i’m just wondering why it happened? does it have a connection while im doing multiple colors with brushes why it happened? but i’m sure that i’ve pressed something while experimenting and enjoying with your tutorial. could you possibly help me in putting back all those missing filters?
im looking for answers in other sites and forums, but they don’t seem to answer my questions clearly? can you help me?
thanks again for taking time in answering my questions. Godbless! (*^_^*)
@tetaldrin: I’m thinking that perhaps due to transparency or somesuch, those filters may just not CURRENTLY be allowed on that layer. Try opening a regular photo and making sure, but those filters should BE there… they just may not be currently usable. Some of them require a completely solid layer to work.
stephanie,
i’ve tried to open a new photo to check if my other filters will come back, but its useless.T.T i even close the photoshop and reopened it again, but still my other filters are missing. i’ve read in other forums, that the mode should be like this and like that, but i cant understand what are they talking about. awww. do you think its useless already? ;’( huhu. Godbless you steph. (*^_^*)
@tetaldrin: The filters are definitely not gone, as long as you didn’t delete them. The mode is certainly a possibility, but if you’re opening a color photo and the filters still aren’t showing up, then I’m not sure it’s the mode. Most color photos are RGB mode to start, and that’s what you’d need. It’s under Image > Mode on the top menu, though. Make sure RGB is selected.
I’m sorry that I’m not able to help more, but there’s no reason at all for the filters to go away unless it has something to do with the mode or the transparency of a layer… something that makes htem unusable in that certain circumstance. Some setting could have gotten messed up somewhere, too. You may also want to try writing a forum post on the Adobe forums. :)
Good luck!
thanks stephanie for everything! for always making time in answering all my/our questions. thanks you soooo much! :) more power to you. Godbless! (*^_^*)
