Glitter -n- Smoke Photoshop & GIMP Brushes

This set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes is composed of various dustings of glitter and smoke. Several types of glitter, several types of smoke (some cloudy, some swirly), all mixed together. I’ve also provided a few brushes of the smoke on its own, so that you can use it that way, too. (I’ll be coming out with an actual smoke brush set one of these days, but I’m still working on that.) These would work great for space scenes, as the dust looks like various space nebulae. They’d also work great for fantasy (pixie dust, magic, etc etc).

They are all extremely high resolution, with an average size of about 2200 pixels.

To get these to look like they do in my preview image, use the brush on its own layer and then apply an “outer glow” with a strong, bright color.

Bokeh Photoshop & GIMP Brushes

This comes from several requests that I’ve gotten in the last few months. Some of you will know what bokeh is, and some may not. But ALL of you have seen it at one point or another, as long as you look at photographs or watch movies. Check out the preview image below for a visual example.

Bokeh is a Japanese term used in photography. It is used to describe the qualities of the area of a photo that is out of focus, and is used to help draw your eye to the subject of the photograph. Some pretty cool things happen with bokeh, too, and that’s what these brushes will help you to create. Also, keep your eye out for a bokeh tutorial that I’ll be coming out with, hopefully in a few days.

This set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes is composed of various bokeh designs. It comes with several brushes for painting your own bokeh, as well as some that are already put together into scattered groups like the ones you see in my preview image. Some are circles, some are polygons, some are more blurry than others. They are all high resolution, with an average size of about 2000 pixels.

Grunge -n- Swirls Photoshop & GIMP Brushes

Here’s a set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of various grungy shapes intermingling with some pretty swirls. You’ll find shapes like a skull, butterfly, several “strips” of grunge, some circles, rectangles, corners, as well as some top and bottom frames or borders. They are all extremely high resolution, with an average size of about 2300 pixels.

Some of these are vectors, while others have some softer, grungy edges. This is a fairly large download. Enjoy!

Glittery Swirls Photoshop & GIMP Brushes

And finally, some brushes again. Here’s a set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of various glittery swirls and flourishes. If any of you remember my “Dangling Glows” set, many of the swirls are made up of similar types of glows, while others are comprised of glitter and sparkles. They are all extremely high resolution, with an average size of about 2100 pixels.

This set combines the ideas of two of our most popular sets here at Obsidian Dawn: Glitter and Swirls & Flourishes II. Hope that you enjoy!

Glitter II Photoshop & GIMP Brushes

Quick note about Obsidian Dawn’s RSS feed. I apparently failed to change an obscure setting at Feedburner and those of you that subscribed to RSS since the redesign may not be getting updates. My apologies for that! It should be working fine now. Not sure why I seem to have been cursed when it comes to the RSS and the redesign, but I suppose I should be thankful that the rest turned out fairly well!

A set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of various glitter and sparkles designs. These are all high resolution, with the average size being about 1500 pixels.

This set includes “curtains” of glitter, lines and wavy lines of sparkles, various clusters of glitter and sparkles, glittery textures, several beautiful glittery swirls, a few individual glittery shapes, glitter “shooting out” from one source, and several glitter and sparkle scatter brushes (the kind that will allow YOU to paint your own glitter!), and much more!

A set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of various shapes and kinds of stars. All high resolution, with the average brush size around 1800 pixels.

Included are starfields in space, various celestial stars, some vectors, as well as tons of star shapes: basic, chinese throwing stars, beveled, lots of decorative stars, double edged, grungy, jewish, metallic, outline, pentacle, retro, shooting stars, lots of vectors, and much more!

Foliage Swirls Photoshop & GIMP Brushes

A set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of various foliage and swirls in vector designs. While some swirls are included, this set was made to be used along with the Swirls Parts Photoshop brushes set, although it works out great on its own, as well!

These are high resolution, with the average size being approximately 1500 pixels. Included are several branches, various flowers (lily, rose, etc), foliage, leaves (single and grouped), pussywillow, several stems (or grass), and swirls.

Swirl Parts Photoshop & GIMP Brushes

A set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of various swirl “parts.” While pretty on their own, and very swirly… this set is made to be used to make your own swirl designs! They are high resolution, with the average size being about 1800 pixels.

Some are just one small swirl, while others are a bit more elaborate. I’ve used these for a while to help make my own swirl designs for several sets.

A set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of various sparkles, glows, glitters… whatever you want to call them. I’ll stick with sparklies! They’re all about 900 pixels tall/wide. Includes several groupings of them, some on their own, some scattered about, and even a few “parts” of them to add as accents wherever you should choose.
