Skin Textures Photoshop Brushes

This set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes is composed of brushes used for painting realistic skin textures. There is a tutorial that I’ve posted to go along with it. To make the most of this brush pack, you’ll want to watch it.

Unlike all of my other sets, this set was made to work only in versions of Photoshop from CS3 onward. I’m afraid that Photoshop 7 didn’t have the ability to do with the brushes the kinds of things – mostly blending and smudging – that I wanted this set to be able to do. And the next newest version of Photoshop that I had to make them in was CS3. I’m not sure if they can be used in GIMP or not, but I assume not.

Most of these are not terribly high resolution, since in most cases they won’t need to be. They’re about 800 pixels on average, but should be scalable up to the maximum brush size without any loss of quality if you actually need them that large.

For those of you that are not digital painters or who don’t generally paint portraits, this set does wonders on photos, as well. Use it on someone’s skin to smooth up that skin and make it look professionally airbrushed. It also works great for creating textures in backgrounds and such.

Stonework II Photoshop Patterns

A set of Photoshop & GIMP patterns composed of various stonework textures. The reference photos were taken from walls, but would certainly work equally well for stonework floors. These are all entirely seamless and extremely high resolution, with most of the images averaging around 3000 pixels in width.

These are mostly made up of the tan toned stones. If you’re looking for tones of the gray variety, check out our Stonework PS Patterns.

Stonework Photoshop Patterns

Frost Photoshop & GIMP Brushes

A set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of frost shapes. These come in several different types. First, you have a few icy and frosty frames to frame photos. Also included are some single frost shapes – the standard feathery shape. There are also some that are in the shape of lines, some swirly frost shapes, and some pre-made frost textures that you can just click once to create some frost. Lastly, we have lots of brushes that were made to paint the frost in textures. These are so easy to use, and you can use them to create your own wintery frost textures! (They are, in fact, what I used to create the textures brushes and the frost frames.)

No releases next week, as I’ll be out of town for Christmas. For those of you that know me or have been following my blog posts for a while, I just wanted to let you know that the hubby is back home from Iraq safely – and here to stay for at least a year! What a Christmas gift, eh?

Texture Photoshop & GIMP Brushes

A set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of various painted textures. These brushes are made for digital artists / painters, as they are “painted” with rather than “stamped” on.

Thy create a texture as you paint with them. These are WONDERFUL for painting textured backgrounds (like something you’d see behind a portrait that you’d get taken at a photography studio). Or whatever! Come up with your own ideas for how to use them… the uses are really limitless.

Grungy & Dirty Photoshop & GIMP Brushes

A set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of various grungy and dirty textures. These are all seamless, if you were to overlap them over and over. However, these work better for a single coverage of an area, or to help grunge up a photo, etc.

These are also available as Grungy & Dirty Photoshop Patterns, which are completely seamless and in color. They will work much better for covering large areas, where you need the texture to tile.

Micro Patterns Photoshop Patterns

A set of Photoshop & GIMP patterns composed of various ‘micro patterns’ – small, simple patterns that would work well for any number of purposes. You could use the different ‘dots’ patterns to add to an image and make it look like halftone newspaper print, for example. Most of these patterns are seamless, though a few are not.

Includes: circles, dots, dashes, grids, squares, scales, twirls, waves, zigzags, and just about any type of lines!

Lace Photoshop & GIMP Brushes

A set of Photoshop & GIMP brushes composed of various lace patterns. Most of them are made with circular, faded out edges to make them easier to overlap and create textures with.

We also have a set of Lace Photoshop Patterns available for larger areas and a much more smooth overlapping of elements – as well as color!
