Here's answers to some of my most frequently asked questions.
Using Brushes
What programs do your brushes work in?
The .abr file included in all brush downloads works seamlessly in Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Affinity Photo, Corel PaintShop Pro, GIMP, and Clip Studio Paint using the included.abrfiles. If the brush set includes stroke brushes, a separate .brushset file is also provided for Procreate. Other programs may have limited compatibility; please check your software to see if it supports .abr files or .brushset files.
How do I install the brushes?
If it's an .abr file and you're installing into Photoshop, that's a pretty easy thing these days. Just double click on the .abr file after you download it. Then use them just like any other Photoshop brush. If you need help with that, check out my tutorials section (coming soon).
If it's a .brushset file and you're installing into Procreate, you can download the .brushset file into your cloud, then just click on the file and the brushes will load in Procreate.
I don't have tutorials for any other programs, but most of them are pretty straightforward these days.
What versions of Photoshop do the .abr files work with?
These brushes will work with all current versions of Photoshop that are run through Creative Cloud. If you have an Adobe subscription that includes Photoshop, these brushes will work. Older versions of the program, I DO still have some legacy brushes that are compatible and I'd be happy to send you those versions if you contact me.
What operating system do your brushes work with?
Your operating system doesn't really matter as much as the program you're trying to load them into. Here's the program compatibility:
- Adobe Photoshop (Mac/Win)
- Adobe Photoshop Elements (Mac/Win)
- Affinity Photo (Mac/Win/iPad)
- Corel PaintShop Pro (Win only)
- GIMP (Mac/Win/Linux)
- Procreate (iPad)
When I use your brushes, they just show up in one color? How do I get them to glow or show up in multiple colors like you do in your preview images?
One of the beautiful things about these brushes is that they show up in whatever color you have selected. If you want to add more color to them, you'll have to explore options like using clipping masks.
If you want to add a glow to them, use the brushes on their own layer and then add a layer style of "Outer Glow" and choose a bright color!
Check my tutorials for some ideas on both of these (coming soon!).
Using PNGs & Overlays
How do these work?
Overlays and PNGs are image files with transparent backgrounds that you can layer over your own designs. Just drag and drop them into your project in programs like Photoshop, Procreate, Canva, GIMP, or literally any program that lets you edit photos. You can resize, rotate, or stack them to create custom designs with ease.
A good example of a PNG is something like fairy wings that you add to your daughter to make her photo look MAGICAL!
"Overlays" are also usually made to go over your own photos, to add things like magical glitter or old film effects or snow falling from the sky!
Shop & Orders
Help! I didn't download my products immediately after completing my order. How do I get my download?
Fear not, my creative friend! You will receive a download with a link to your purchases.
If you've checked your spam folder and have not received the download within 5 minutes of your purchase, please feel free to contact me for help.
My download link has expired. How can I re-download my purchase?
Contact me and I'll happily send you a new download link. The reason the downloads are limited by number and time is so that the "bad guys" don't get to just plop my stuff on the internet for free someplace. You're not one! You know that - I know that! So contact me here.
There's something wrong with my order.
Yikes, that's most unfortunate! Please contact me so that I can help work through whatever went wrong.
Terms of Use
Are these approved for commercial usage?
Yep! Use them for any and all of your projects!
The only thing you can't do with these is resell them "as is." That includes not plopping them down on a background with no changes and reselling them.
Please check out my Terms of Service.
These are cool! Can I share them with my friends?
I don't mind if you let your close friends try them out, but if they're going to use them anywhere, they will need to buy their own license for them (which is essentially what you're buying when you buy each download).
Please check out my Terms of Service.
2025 Website Change
Didn't these used to be free?
They were free to download, but they were never free to use. Before, you needed to credit me every place you used them or purchase a license. But that system was being abused and my designs were being stolen. Now it's just a straight up, easy-to-understand "buy these and you can use them" system.
If you purchased a license or are crediting me under my old system, fret not. You've still got every right to use the product you downloaded.
What happened to your other brushes (and some other resources)?
Hi there, bestie! I'm so glad you've been using my resources long enough to notice there's a few missing! They are the brush sets that didn't make the cut, alas. They were just not quality enough to charge for. Or didn't sell well & weren't worth moving. Have no fear, you can still download them for free on external websites. Check out my deviantArt page here:

Are these resources different from those on your old website (pre-2025)?
Some of them are, yep. Every single set got an overhaul, and I ensured that there weren't any errors or stray "hard edges" that shouldn't be there. Some of them didn't need it, so they're largely the same. Some got combined, so they're now 2-3 "sets" in one.
Others got a complete overhaul. Here's a list of the resources that I updated with new brushes/etc:
Aurora Borealis Brushes
Birds Brushes
Catchlights Brushes
Clouds Brushes
Cobwebs Brushes
Coffee Stains Brushes (previously Water Stains)
Dandelion Seeds Brushes
Eyelashes Brushes
Flower Sketches Brushes
Glitter Brushes
Light Beams Brushes
Light Trails (previously Light Swirls)
Lightning Brushes
Old Film Brushes
Ripped Jeans Brushes
Shattered Glass Brushes
Space Brushes
Spanish Moss Brushes
Stylized Stars Brushes (previously Stars)
Water Brushes
Miscellaneous
Do you take requests?
Absolutely, I do! I'm always looking for fun ideas for brushes or other resources. Drop me a line and let me know what you're interested in, and I'll see if I can make it happen.
Do you use AI?
Everything here is copyrightable to me and created by me. By hand. Most of my resources have been on the internet for over 15 years, long before AI came on the scene. In fact, I'd be surprised if my resources weren't used as some of the inspiration that AI trained on!
